Robert Lewandowski ‘would prefer’ a move to Chelsea or Barcelona rather than staying at Bayern Munich this summer.

That’s according to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, who says the Polish superstar would consider a move to Stamford Bridge.

Lewandowski has been heavily linked with a move away from the Allianz this summer after seeing his relationship with Bayern sour over their failure to offer him a new contract.

Barcelona are the ones who are leading the race for his signature, but Chelsea have also been brought into the picture as they seek a new centre-forward after letting Romelu Lukaku return to Inter Milan.

A report from L’Equipe has now thrown Paris Saint Germain into the mix, stating that Lewandowski is their number one target to strengthen their attack.

Falk backs this up, saying PSG, ‘just like Chelsea’, are expected to get involved if negotiations between Bayern and Barcelona come to nothing.

However, Lewandowski isn’t all that interested in a move to Paris and ‘would prefer’ a move to Barcelona or Chelsea instead of staying at Bayern. In other words, he’s open to a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Now, whether Chelsea actually make a move remains to be seen, but this is the first time we’ve seen talk of Lewandowski at least being interested in Chelsea.

At the moment, it feels wiser to take anything about his future with a hefty pinch of salt as both he and Bayern are very clearly playing games via the media to get the outcome they want.

Thus we’ll treat this latest report with the same level of cynicism for now, although if talks do break down with Barcelona, it might be something to keep an eye on.
