US Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu has told Ekstra Bladet that he dreams of joining Chelsea despite being linked to other clubs including Barcelona.

The Serie A side took the 18-year-old from FC Nordsjælland in 2022 and initially included him in their youth team before promoting him to their first team this season. Operating as a left-back, he has managed an assist from six games so far.

Back in June, his agent revealed Barcelona are one of the clubs following his client. Despite the La Liga side being keen on the defender, and Liverpool and Manchester City also being linked, he has his eyes set on making a switch to Chelsea in the future.

With many top clubs already named as possible options, the newspaper asked the player where he would prefer to move in the future.

Responding to that, Dorgu said: “Chelsea is my dream to play for. I have been a fan of them for over 10 years, so it would be a huge dream to play for them.”

The defender has a deal lasting until 2027, and as it stands there’s been no claims of interest from Chelsea in him.

It’s unlikely the Blues will look for another left-back in the near future, considering that position is well covered by Ben Chilwell, Ian Maatsen and Marc Cucurella.

Therefore, Dorgu is really going to have to impress to catch their attention.
