Barcelona’s Ansu Fati ‘does not want to hear’ about a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, despite Jorge Mendes working on it.

That’s according to Sport, who say Mendes had made ‘progress’ on a potential deal that would have seen Fati swapped for Wolves midfielder Rúben Neves.

The newspaper explains that Fati is one of the players Barcelona would like to move on as they try to raise funds and balance the books to comply with La Liga’s wage cap and financial fair play.

They’re facing resistance from the forward, though, and he wants to continue at the Nou Camp and succeed with Barcelona rather than moving elsewhere.

They were hoping that a deal could be done with Wolves that would suit everyone and Mendes had ‘advanced in an operation’ that would have seen Fati joining Wolves and Neves going the other way.

Fati, though, is having none of it and ‘does not want to hear’ about a potential switch to Molineux as his focus is on remaining at Barcelona and succeeding there.

That, then, should put an end to any dreams at Wolves, where manager Julen Lopetegui may have just been handed his first blow of this transfer window.
