That was quick. Watford hadn’t even been seriously linked to Marvin Zeegelaar this summer, and on the same day when the rumours showed up, the player is apparently ready to be presented by the club.

Portuguese outlet A Bola claims the left-back has already travelled to England, where he already had his Watford medical and is now waiting for the move to become official.

The outlet doesn’t make it clear if the player is joining on a loan deal or a permanent transfer. This morning, when the news broke, the Portuguese press claimed both options were on the table.

Zeegelaar joined Sporting from Rio Ave in January 2016 on a €600k deal. He made 39 appearances for the club, even starting in important matches, such as against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

But the player is not in Jorge Jesus’ plans for the season, and hasn’t even been training with the first team squad lately. He rejected a move to Norwich City and was linked to Hull City this year, but it looks like Watford have won the race.
