Hans Vanaken held talks with Club Brugge about a transfer to West Ham this morning as he pushes for the move to the London Stadium.
That’s according to Het Belang van Limburg, who say that the Belgian club are continuing to insist they sign a replacement before sanctioning any deal.
The newspaper reports that the club’s management ‘left the door ajar’ for a transfer to West Ham to take place, having initially refused to let it happen.
They’ve now changed that stance and made it clear that a transfer can go through ‘if the right price is paid’ and they can find a replacement first.
As has been stated elsewhere, he sees the Hammers as his last chance to play Premier League football.
He is, therefore, somewhat pushing for the move, although according to his father, the decision is out of their hands.
“I cannot answer yes, no or maybe. We just don’t know,” he told the newspaper.
“If Club Brugge sticks to their guns, nothing will happen. There’s no way around that.
“We all have to wait and see what happens now. There are three parties that have to come to an agreement with each other, if it comes to that.
“You have nothing in your own hands. It is the market of supply and demand.”
