Brighton & Hove Albion have Feyenoord’s Orkun Kökcü on their transfer agenda, according to De Telegraaf.

The midfielder has been in fine form for the Dutch club this season, managing 12 goals and three assists from 36 games in all competitions.

Brighton have their scouts in attendance to regularly watch the 22-year-old live in action for the Eredivisie side.

Both Feyenoord and the Turkey international have known for ‘several months’ about the Seagulls’ interest in signing him. The player has a contract until 2025 and it’s not the time now for him to think about his future.

Kökcü’s immediate focus is to help Arne Slot’s side win the title and the cup competition this season. Feyenoord have a eight point lead over Ajax at the top of the table and the two clubs face each other in the KNVB Cup semi-final clash later today.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side would face competition to secure the player’s services. The report states ‘many clubs bigger than Brighton’ are now considering making a bid for Kökcü in the summer.

Benfica are among them and Brighton will have to overcome competition from them and other clubs to sign him. From France, Marseille, Lyon and AS Monaco have also sent their scouts to follow Kökcü.
