Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven has agreed a six-year contract with Tottenham, with a transfer ‘one step away’ from making the move.

That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who say the defender is just waiting for the two clubs to strike an agreement on his transfer.

Reports yesterday indicated that Tottenham had made their move for Van de Ven, with Ange Postecoglou determined to add another centre-back to his squad this summer.

Those reports indicated that a deal was close for the highly rated Dutch defender to sign and TMW back that up today.

They state that Tottenham have made a ‘relaunch’ for the centre-back, with a deal ‘one step away’ from being completed.

According to their information, Van de Ven is ‘very close to moving’ from Wolfsburg to Tottenham and a major hurdle has already been cleared as he has reached an agreement with Spurs on a six-year deal until 2029.

He is now waiting for the two clubs to finalise the deal on the transfer, but the two parties are ‘close to the finish line’ thanks to Tottenham putting €40m plus €5m in bonuses on the table.

Contacts are in progress to close the finer details of the negotiation but there is increased confidence a deal will be done, particularly as Van de Ven already has personal terms agreed.
