In the past few months, Chelsea have been heavily linked with signing Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig.
Reports from Germany have repeatedly said the transfer is ‘all done’, and the 25-year-old ‘will definitely join’ the Blues this summer.
Chelsea fans have many reasons to be excited about that transfer, and will be further encouraged by quotes from RMC’s After Foot today.
“Christopher Nkunku has become, without us really realising it, perhaps one of the best players in the world,” said Breitner.
“In any case, from my point of view, perhaps the best all-rounder in Europe.”
Playing for RB Leipzig this season, Nkunku had 23 goals and nine assists in 36 appearances.
The Bundesliga side only paid €13m to sign him from Paris Saint Germain in 2019. Now he’s valued by Transfermarkt at €80m, and reports from Germany claimed Chelsea should spend around €80m to get him.
Chelsea are set to lose a few attackers this summer, with reports from the German media today also speaking of Kai Havertz’s potential move to Real Madrid.
With Nkunku able to play in multiple positions in attack, that should definitely help Mauricio Pochettino’s job when restructuring the team.
