‘Perhaps in direction of Everton’ – Transfer to Blues hinted at, need to turn concrete interest into offer as saga goes on

Everton remain in the picture for Udinese striker Beto, who is more likely to move to Goodison Park than anywhere else this summer.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say the striker is more likely to move abroad than elsewhere in Italy and ‘perhaps in the direction of Everton’.

The website explains that Beto remains a potential target for Inter Milan, who are still on the hunt for forwards after abandoning plans to sign Romelu Lukaku on a permanent basis.

Beto is one of those who has been consistently linked throughout the summer but CM.it report that ‘it seems difficult’ to imagine the striker leaving at this point in the window. Only an ‘indispensable offer’ could change that.

Such an offer could arrive from Everton, who remain ‘on the trail of the player’ but are yet to make a solid move for him. They have ‘concrete approval’ but not a real negotiation with Udinese.

The Toffees still need a striker after chasing one to replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who remains plagued by injuries and cannot be relied upon to stay fit for an entire season.

Beto is someone they chased in the January transfer window and that’s continued through to the summer, and it’s now believed that if he were to move this summer it would be ‘perhaps in the direction of Everton’.

For that to happen the Blues need to turn their interest into something resembling an offer, which it appears they are yet to do.
