Brazilian outlet UOL brings a very interesting story today about Pep Guardiola’s restaurant in the central zone of Manchester.

A few months ago, the world media covered when the Man City manager opened the establishment along with club officials Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano.

Now reporter Caio Carreiri managed to make a visit to Tast Cuina, and spoke to Miquel Villacrosa, the man who runs the kitchen on a daily basis.

“Pep has been one of my idols since childhood, and I have always followed him since he was a player, and then as a coach he made me live a dream with Barça”, Villacrosa told UOL. “We had met before, but here was the first time he knew my name.”

“He goes into the kitchen and asks, ‘What do we have today?’ Shows interest in people and is always willing to try different foods”, says Villacrosa, who works for the chef Paco Perez.

Although the place has three levels (bar, restaurant and private room), UOL claims that Guardiola can often be seen there as a regular customer, dismissing the perks of being the place’s owner.

Villacrosa claims that the manager is very demanding, not only because he owns the place, but also because he pays the bill as anyone else.

“He likes a good product done right, without exaggeration and fantasy. What he mostly asks are espardeñas, a seafood of the Catalan coast. He’s strict here as well, because he pays like everyone and is a good tipper.”
