While every Tottenham fan across the globe will know who Hugo Lloris is, they might not know the Spurs goalkeeper has a younger brother called Gautier, who recently spoke to Le Parisien.

The 28-year-old is a centre-back who recently swapped AJ Auxerre for Le Havre AC in France, which came after a very long spell at OGC Nice.

Unlike the Tottenham star, however, his career has been a struggle when it comes to getting minutes on the pitch, with him getting most of his professional football over the past three years.

He is now hoping for even more following his move, and admits leaving Nice was a good move on his part, as he was able to get away from his brother’s shadow, which continues to loom over the city, since Hugo also started his career there.

He said: “Having that label on you puts you in the light a bit more. People are a bit more attentive to you, but also people are quicker to judge. That was especially the case at Nice, our home town, where he is presented like the kid of the city who succeeded. His name takes up a bit more room.

“At Auxerre, and now at Le Havre, I’m a bit more Gautier and less the brother of Hugo. When I was younger, it wasn’t aways easy, but today, I’m stepped away from that label. I’m also used to it. I’m especially very, very proud of my brother, of his career and his success.”

As for where he wants to see the Tottenham player, who has made it clear he would be leaving Spurs this summer, play next, he points out they have never played against each, even in a friendly.

Either way, he hopes that he finds ‘the best project in France or elsewhere’.
