It seems West Bromwich Albion is still a possible destination for Sporting midfielder Matheus Pereira.

Two Portuguese newspapers name the Baggies in their stories today, although there’s something which may make the deal a little more difficult.

Both Record and O Jogo claim that despite living in Portugal since he was a teenager, the Brazilian still hasn’t got a Portuguese passport.

This is something that could make his move to England impossible, although Record says he’s started the process to get the documentation and there’s confidence it can be done before deadline day.

Record also adds that besides West Brom, there’s another unnamed Championship side going for promotion who are keen on signing Pereira.

The player himself likes the idea of moving to the Championship, so if his passport gets sorted, that’s a real possibility for his future.

The newspaper claims that Sporting will accept to loan him out, as long as his new club pay for his wages. And a €15m buying option could be obligatory or not.

It had gone down to €10m, but it’s back up again now.
