Very clearly unwanted at Vicarage Road, Marvin Zeegelaar’s future is far away from Watford.

However, no club appears willing to pay an actual fee for the Dutchman, and only Udinese, who loaned him from the Premier League club for the second half of last season, seem keen on his services.

He performed rather well during his brief spell there, which is why the Serie A club wouldn’t mind having him back, reported as interested a week or so ago.

Actually, it goes a bit beyond that now, as Gazzetta dello Sport describe it as Udinese ‘are dreaming’ of signing Zeegelaar again to help bolster their left hand side.

It all rests on Gino Pozzo, as the Italian newspaper say he’s the one who ‘could decide to send him back to Italy’ again, most likely in order to place him in the shop window and get him out from under Javi Gracia’s feet at Watford.

The 28-year-old still has two years left on his contract at Vicarage Road after signing for the club from Sporting CP in a £2.7m deal back in 2017.
