Juventus midfielder Arthur is trying to work out a deal with Arsenal as the Italian club push to get rid of him this summer.

That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say that the ‘dialogue is already underway’ between the two clubs about a potential transfer.

The newspaper explains that Juventus are targeting PSG’s Leandro Paredes, but before they can finalise that deal, they need to get rid of Arthur.

That is anything but simple, though, with the Italian giants having tried in previous windows with no success, the last being in January when he was also linked with Arsenal.

Arthur also wants to find a new club so he can be playing regularly ahead of the World Cup, and so all the parties are working to try and find a solution.

There are two ‘knots’ that need to be untied for that to happen, his €5m a year wages and the €47m that remains on Juventus’ books following his move from Barcelona.

They would want that cleared, but it’s a huge figure for a player who has not impressed in Italy and, combined with his wages, makes finding a buyer ‘extremely complicated’.

Indeed, a loan is the ‘only possible way out’, and both the Bianconeri and Arthur’s agents are now ‘hard at work’ trying to find someone who will take him.

Arsenal are the likeliest solution at this moment in time, and they are now trying to ‘concretise the dialogue’ between both parties to find an agreement, which in turn would open the door for Paredes to join Juventus.
