Aston Villa are now on the verge of signing Lyon winger Bertrand Traoré, according to claims from France today.

L’Equipe reports ‘all parties have come to an agreement’ and the move is expected to be  announced on Friday.

It’s said Aston Villa are paying £19m for the Burkina Faso international, who’ll sign a four-year deal with the Premier League side.

Lyon are looking to ‘clean’ their squad this summer, and are working on several outgoing transfers. Bertrand’s move to Villa is seen as an opportunity for him to ‘recover’ his football level.

The 25-year-old has some past experience in English football as he joined Chelsea back in 2014. He only had 16 appearances for the Blues, and spent a couple of seasons on loan at Dutch sides Vitesse and Ajax.

Lyon spent €10m to sign him from Chelsea in 2017. In three years at the French side, he has 33 goals and 17 assists in 126 appearances. Waiting for a departure, he wasn’t even used by the club at the start of this season.
