There are endless claims coming from Italy on the future of Antonio Conte and a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Over the past couple of days there’s been two different slants on the situation. One has been that Conte would now be keener on a move to Spurs than he had been during the summer, before the club moved through various options and eventually appointed Nuno Espirito Santo.
The other slant is that Conte still isn’t keen and would potentially be using Tottenham interest to encourage Manchester United to think more seriously about their own managerial situation, and a possible move for the Italian themselves.
TMW now report Spurs are ‘hard at work’ trying to appoint the former Chelsea boss.
They’re working on a ‘one and a half year contract’, and there would be the possibility to extend that deal during the current campaign.
Conte’s camp and Tottenham are getting ‘closer’ and TMW say he could become the new Spurs boss in the next few hours.
Again, it’s worth pointing out that not everyone in the Italian media is this optimistic about a deal being done, especially so quickly.
