Sunderland defender Salil Adbul Samed could be set for another move in the summer, with Danish Premier League side Sønderjyske open talks with his entourage.

That’s according to Africa Foot, who cover the player today and how he may be moving on from his less than successful spell at Sunderland.

Same is currently on loan at Sunderland from Lens, where he has a contract until 2028. He had presumably been hoping to impress in the Championship but has done anything but, with just 11 games in all competitions so far.

The 25-year-old has only started three games and has never played 90 full minutes since he arrived in August.

A permanent move is very unlikely, then, and it seems that Sønderjyske have begun talks to try and take him to Denmark.

Indeed, Africa Foot have an interview with Anna Granville, the assistant for Talent and Social at Supernova Management, who represent Salil Abdul Samed.

And she’s revealed all on Sønderjyske’s interest in the Sunderland loanee, explaining that talks have taken place about his contractual situation ahead of a potential move in the summer transfer window.

“Towards the end of last week, we received an official contact from Sonderjyske, as they wanted clarification on the exact situation in Salis (Samed),” she is quoted as saying.

“The feeling is that they will insist on an agreement, especially with Lens, who is the main owner of the player at the moment. For our part, we believe that Salis (Samed) must play more than it has done this season, and we will work to achieve this.”
