As the City Group carry on with their operation to take over Bahia, a new development is reported by the Brazilian media.
Globo Esporte writes that following the ‘advanced talks’ between Manchester City’s owners and the Salvador side, a visit was made this week.
It’s said that on Tuesday, officials from the City Group were in Brazil to get to know Bahia’s training centre.
Confident about a deal, the South American side are said to be working behind the scenes to identify and sign footballers for their new project.
Manchester City’s owners, however, are still to place their official bid for the takeover. Bahia are waiting for it, as they need it to be approved by the deliberative council, the special commission, and then the club’s members.
According to recent reports, the City Group are expected to spend over £100m with the acquisition, and by buying a traditional Brazilian club, they intend to make it their second most powerful side, being only behind Manchester City.
