With Vincent Janssen being left out of Tottenham’s Champions League squad this week, and subsequently getting the message he has no important role at Spurs this season, the Dutchman didn’t have a lot of options.

In the Netherlands, Tottenham’s behaviour towards Janssen has been seriously questioned this week, especially the pressure put on him to move on deadline day. Janssen was given the options of West Brom or Brighton & Hove Albion, but thought both were a step down he didn’t really want to take.

Whilst Mauricio Pochettino said on Thuresday that Janssen has a Tottenham role, few believed that would be meaningful, and now it looks like he’s off to Turkey.

Fenerbahce have announced they’ve come to an agreement with Tottenham for the loan of Janssen, via Turkey’s NTV.

The Dutch striker is expected to land in Istanbul at 12.30 local time, so around 10.30 UK time. It’s likely Janssen will receive a great welcome and that should do wonders for his confidence after a tough time at Tottenham.
