Newcastle United may be given their second shot at signing Raphinha after seeing a previous bid come to nothing.

That’s according to Sport, who cover how the Brazilian looks destined to be sold this summer thanks to the emergence of Lamine Yamal.

They explain that at this moment in time the youngster is the first choice on the right-wing and, as such, that’s pushing Raphinha closer to the exit.

The Brazilian has been unable to fully convince those in charge at the Camp Nou since his arrival from Leeds, with injuries having played their part on that front too.

Thus, he could be sold this summer to help balance the books and alleviate the financial situation at the club, where finances are tight.

The hope is that the player still has admirers in the Premier League, where he starred for Leeds previously and has had offers in the past.

Indeed, they say that last summer ‘there was an offer from Newcastle’ but Barcelona decided to reject it following Ousmane Dembele’s departure to PSG.

They’re now more receptive to the idea of a sale, though, meaning Newcastle could be provided with the perfect opportunity to finally get their man.

Of course, they’ll have to rustle up the funds first, having found themselves severely hampered by Financial Fair Play in recent months, but the opportunity is there should they wish to explore.
