Back in March, Fanatik reported Nottingham Forest are expected to return for Beşiktaş’s Romain Saïss in the summer after missing out on him in the winter market.

Fast forward to June and Sabah now state the Tricky Trees, who already knocked on the Turkish club’s door in January, ‘come to the table once again’ for the defender

Nottingham Forest are back in the mix after finding out the 33-year-old has requested the club sanction his move in the summer window.

It’s said the negotiations between the two clubs have ‘gained momentum’ after the Black Eagles asked Steve Cooper’s side for a fee around €4m for the centre-back.

The Moroccan left Wolverhampton Wanderers for the Black Eagles last summer and signed a two-year deal, with an option for another year. The report states he wants to return to England and now wants to convince his employer to sanction his transfer.

Beşiktaş manager Şenol Güneş had earlier stated the door is open for players who want to leave. Sabah now claim ‘it is considered certain’ that Saïss ‘will leave’ the club in the summer.

Whether an agreement with Nottingham Forest can be found for Saïss’ transfer remains to be seen.
