Even though previous reports had claimed that Atlético Mineiro gave up on the signing of Gustavo Scarpa from Nottingham Forest, it seems the Galo are ready to try again.

Goal Brasil writes that the Belo Horizonte club are making a new attempt to ‘try to convince’ the player to return to his home country.

Atletico Mineiro are reportedly hopeful that Scarpa, who is loaned by Nottingham Forest to Olympiacos, accepts to talk in the coming weeks.

It’s said there’s ‘confidence’ from Galo that the player can ‘change his mind’ and finally given the ‘approval’ to such an operation.

According to Goal, Atletico Mineiro won’t even speak to Nottingham Forest again until they get the green light from Scarpa himself.

The Brazilian club are said to be willing to spend €4m on the signing, and the Premier League club are reportedly ‘pleased’ with that amount.

Scarpa joined Nottingham Forest for free back in January, and with disappointing six months at City Ground, he’s loaned to Olympiacos until the end of the season.

Things haven’t been great for him in Greece either, but the player still believes he can succeed in Europe, and that’s why he’s been hard to convince.
