Having already signed Nicolas Dominguez on Friday and being close to sealing the deal for Ibrahim Sangaré, Nottingham Forest are also working on a forward.

That man is going to be Divock Origi if the latest news out of Italy is to be believed, with Gianluca Di Marzio the one reporting it.

He simply says that the Belgium international is ‘close’ to signing for Nottingham Forest, which would be a relief for AC Milan, who have been trying to get him off their books all summer.

Many clubs in England have been linked with the former Liverpool player, where he won the Champions League, and yet none were able to either satisfy the Serie A side or willing to take on his wages.

Nottingham Forest, if this news is anything to go by, have clearly managed to do both, and he will be arriving on what is described as a ‘simple loan’, meaning there is no option to buy.

Meanwhile, Sacha Tavolieri claims the deal is a loan with an option to buy, with the player already in London where he is undertaking his medial ahead of the move.

He left the Anfield side on a free last summer but his first season in Italy was far from being a good one, as he managed just two goals and an assist in 36 appearances under Stefano Pioli.

Nottingham Forest will be hoping he can be far more productive than that, though.
