Romelu Lukaku’s future at Chelsea has been a regular topic of discussion in Italy, with Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur named as potential suitors.

The striker excelled under the current Spurs manager, Antonio Conte, at the San Siro. He was vital in their title winning season during the 2020/21 campaign, which convinced the Blues to invest more than €100m in securing his services last summer.

Conte’s presence at Tottenham Hotspur has seen the Chelsea player linked to the north London club. For the past few days, a return to the Serie A side has been pushed forward repeatedly in the Italian media.

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta also talked about the possibility of the Belgium international returning to Milan this summer. On Thursday, Italian journalist Fabio Bergomi explained the ex-Everton man has ‘rejected’ Tottenham Hotspur in favour of joining the Nerazzurri.

With various claims stating that a return to Inter is on the cards for Thomas Tuchel’s man, his lawyer, Sebastian Ledure, has now responded to these reports.

“What emerged in the press at the moment is only speculation. There is nothing to comment on at the moment,” Ledure told Sportitalia’s program, SportitaliaMercato.
