Manchester City’s Philippe Sandler is on loan at Anderlecht and has made nine appearances in the league so far this season.
The centre-back hasn’t featured for the Jupiler Pro League side since the last international break, missing the last four games.
Multiple reports coming out of Belgium have said a knee injury has forced the City owned player to spend time on the sidelines and there were even suggestions the defender travelled to visit Ramon Cugat in Barcelona.
Earlier this month, DH journalist Christophe Franken reported the Dutchman will “have to be operated” on.
The Belgian side face Zulte Waregem on Friday and DH provides a small update on Sandler when they take a look at Anderlecht’s injury woes for the upcoming clash.
It’s claimed that it’s ‘not yet certain’ the 22-year-old has to go under the knife. DH further adds ‘it will only be the last resort’.
Meanwhile, Het Laatste Nieuws states it’s ‘unclear’ if Sandler will be fit on time after November’s international break as Anderlecht avoids commenting on his situation.
Sandler’s current situation will be a cause of concern for himself, Anderlecht and Manchester City.
