Vitor Pereira has warned his Wolverhampton Wanderers team that they cannot take their foot off the pedal and relax now that their relegation fears are gone.
A Bola have an interview with the Wolves manager today in which he insists there will be no release of pressure or relaxing from him or his side moving forwards.
Wolves are currently 13th in the Premier League and the form side in the division after six straight wins have propelled them up the table. They are also unbeaten in eight after draws against Everton and Bournemouth before the run started.
Their last defeat came to Fulham on February 25th, with Pereira’s impact having been undeniable. He joined Wolves with them sitting 19th and five points from safety, but they are now 20 points clear of Ipswich, who are already relegated.
That means their season is now effectively at end, although they could cap off the remarkable turnaround under his leadership with a top ten finish before the campaign is over.
Pereira certainly doesn’t want to see his side taking their foot off the gas, urging them to continue the fine work they’ve already done.
“We live a good moment for what we have been doing, but this does not give the right to relaxation and the players know it,” he said.
“I want my team in Manchester to play with the identity we have been creating and competitive. Our season is not over yet, we want the best possible rating.”
