It doesn’t happen often this, but the Spanish media continue to treat the Nico Gaitan to Tottenham Hotspur rumour with contempt. Usually ones to talk up any possible transfer, Gaitan to Tottenham has jumped about stumped the Spanish media.

It’s so unlikely that they think it’s dead on several levels, before being born. Whilst the claim Mauricio Pochettino interest in Gaitan has been reported and has been mentioned, each time it’s with several caveats that it’s not happening, and there would be no chance of it happening.

Spanish newspaper AS say in their Friday edition that despite rumours coming from England, with it again being stated there’s a claim Pochettino wants Gaitan on loan in January, there’s no chance.

Screen Shot 2017-01-13 at 08.21.37Atletico are ‘not listening’ to the reports, and their transfer ban means the squad is short rather than one which can be trimmed by letting players leave on loan.

The only connection here is that both Pochettino and Gaitan are Argentine, and that Tottenham are often linked with wingers, after that the story falls to pieces quickly.

Even the player’s own representation haven’t been keen to talk Pochettino interest up, so this isn’t even a player trying to up his profile.
