Manchester United have been trying to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea for most of June, but have been met with a high asking price from the London club.

The past few days has seen the Red Devils reportedly make their best offer, only for the Blues to reject it. There were then quickly reports of Bayern Munich being in the picture to sign the midfielder, and it all seemed like an effort to pressure Manchester United.

In these cases, Bayern Munich is perhaps not the best club to use. That’s because they’ll tell their local media if interest is being exaggerated or doesn’t exist.

Bild now bring a report covering the English claims of Bayern being keen on Mount. They then go on to say that the player has ‘not been an issue’ at the German club recently.

That, clearly, doesn’t sound like a club making moves for a big money signing. They don’t rubbish the player, and point out that Thomas Tuchel worked with him at Chelsea, but as far as Bild have found out, there’s no talk of Mount at Bayern Munich right now.
