Tahith Chong has been covered more in the European media in recent months than he probably should be.

The Manchester United youngster hasn’t yet shown his best form when given first team chances, but his contract situation is motivating interest.

Still considered a good prospect for the future, the 20 year old will be available free of charge in the summer.

This week the player’s agent Erkan Alkan spoke to Votebal International and made it clear an Old Trafford exit is on the cards: “He has different views on Tahith than the leadership. A coach thinks about himself, I think about my player. He has come to a point where he feels that he is not going any further. Then it’s time to look further.”

Interest from Juventus and Inter Milan has been reported, but Gazzetta dello Sport now say the Turin club are no longer in the chase. Juve have said they’re ‘not interested’, and there’s a reasonable chance that’s down to the wages being requested.

According to the Italian newspaper, Chong currently earns €200k (a figure likely to be after tax) a year, and he wants ten times that.

As for Inter Milan, it’s said the player’s agent has met the club on a couple of occasions, and they’ve ‘taken information’ on the potential signing.

Gazzetta’s report starts off by focusing hugely on the player’s hair, saying: ‘The first thing you notice about Tahith Chong is the hair. The second, still the hair: more voluminous than Fellaini’s, more characteristic of Gullit’s (in the good old days). The third, if you’re not distracted by the hair, is his left foot.’
