Sven Botman is on loan at SC Heerenveen from Ajax and has started in 18 league games this season, scoring two goals and registering four assists in the process.

The 19-year-old’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed as De Telegraaf claims Norwich City are looking at him. Their headline reads ‘Norwich concrete for Ajax player Sven Botman’.

Within the report, it’s explained the Premier League club have registered their interest to sign the centre-back.

According to the report, Daniel Farke’s side want to take the player ‘immediately’ and there’s a lucrative and long-term contract for the defender at Norwich.

Botman’s contract with Ajax expires in 2022 and with the Canaries lurking around, he wants to know the plans for him.

Ajax chief Marc Overmars and head scout Henk Veldmate recently visited Heerenveen to watch Botman live in action.

Their initial plan was to evaluate if the teenager will be good enough for the club in the long-term, once he returns from his loan spell. With Norwich’s interest, Overmars now has a difficult choice to make over Botman’s future.
