Last month, a surprise claim in the English press emerged, stating that West Ham United have set their sights on Galatasaray’s Wilfried Zaha.

Further claims in the United Kingdom have further backed up the Hammers’ interest and have insisted that they are serious about the winger. It was also stated he could leave the Istanbul club after this season.

Takvim have relayed these claims of West Ham’s interest and then shared their own take on this case.

The Ivory Coast international spent nine years during his second spell at Crystal Palace and left them as a free agent at the end of last season.

He joined the Süper Lig side last summer and has scored 10 goals and registered five assists from 37 games for them.

The rumours of interest from David Moyes’ side haven’t pleased a section of the Turkish club’s supporters, but Takvim have played it down.

It’s explained that as of now, there has been ‘no official statement’ on this matter from the Turkish club and the possible deal involving the 31-year-old ‘remains uncertain’.

Furthermore, Zaha still has over two years left on his contract at Galatasaray, meaning he would certain cost a pretty penny.
