On Janaury 10th, we covered claims from Italy that Chelsea have made contact with Zenit Saint Petersburg for Leandro Paredes and the Blues’ excellent relationship with the Russian outfit could help them get the transfer over the line.

Four days later, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Premier League outfit are willing to offer €30m for the midfielder, but his employer were not ready to accept their proposal.

Tutto Mercato Web now claims that Paris Saint-Germain have joined the race for the Argentine and have already submitted their offer to Zenit in recent days.

The fee reported here is around €35m and it’s claimed an additional €5m could convince Sergei Semak’s side to allow their player leave in the winter market.

So far, there has been no ‘official proposal’ from Chelsea for the 24-year-old and if they are keen on signing Paredes, then the west London club will have to act fast.

Cesc Fabregas has already left Stamford Bridge for AS Monaco and Maurizio Sarri has stressed that he would like to bring in a replacement for the Spaniard.
