Ever since Newcastle United were bought by PIF, they have been linked with a move for Victor Osimhen, alongside the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

The Nigerian striker stayed at Napoli for the current campaign, but everyone expects him to leave in the summer, with the Serie A side hoping someone comes along and triggers his €130m release clause.

Corriere dello Sport on Thursday reckon Newcastle could be one of those teams, although whether they really do is a whole different conversation.

That’s because the Magpies are currently struggling to replicate last season’s form, and are nowhere near as attractive as they were last summer destination wise.

Chelsea would struggle too without Champions League football, Manchester United are still in the battle for that, whilst Arsenal and Liverpool will almost certainly have Europe’s top competition on offer.

Corriere recall that Aurelio De Laurentiis has been saying ‘for a while’ that his star striker ‘will go elsewhere’ in the summer, as the forward has a ‘sea of admirers’.

Newcastle are mentioned alongside the aforementioned Premier League clubs, as well as Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and unnamed Saudi clubs.

The hope is that he goes and brings in a ‘super income’, but adding the Magpies into the mix at this point seems to be more wishful thinking than anything, especially considering their ongoing battle with FFP after some initial heavy spending.
