Following the initial links between Newcastle United and Santos wonderkid Angelo, today we get to see some curious claims from Brazil regarding this chase.

Bolavip’s writer Romário Junior comes up with an update about an ‘astronomical sale’ the South American club could be making very soon.

This story claims Newcastle have ‘already decided’ that they’re buying the youngster, as the Magpies had only been waiting for the end of the Brazilian league to ‘intensify’ the talks.

It’s said the offer was already ‘signalled’ to Santos president Andres Rueda, and it’s worth around R$127m (£20m). The report also points out that the Peixe could work to get a better agreement, including a percentage of a future sale.

Now before any Newcastle fan buys this story, we better point out that Bolavip and Romário Junior may not be the most reliable sources in Brazil, and they produce a lot of transfer claims.

So in this case, we better wait and see if some better outlets come up with something on this chase, especially because the Magpies’ interest in Angelo had already been reported.
