Newcastle United have stated they may make offer for player ‘in next few days’

Newcastle United can ‘ruin’ FC Copenhagen efforts to sign Genoa’s Lukas Lerager. That’s according to Danish outlet BT.

The midfielder is considering his future at the Serie A side as he continues to draw attention from Torino and Copenhagen.

These clubs need to be wary of the Magpies, who have stated an offer for the player may be on the way ‘in the next few days’.

BT relay claims made in Italy about Copenhagen wanting to take Lerager on a loan deal with an option buy for €4m.

However, the Denmark international isn’t in favour of returning to his country as he wants to continue his career abroad.

His ‘next favourite step’ in his career is a ‘move to Newcastle and the Premier League’. Copenhagen will have to table an ‘attractive package’ if they are to beat the Tyneside club.

BT adds Steve Bruce’s side must convert their words into action by tabling a satisfactory offer to Genoa.

Brentford are included in the list of suitors and it’ll be interesting to see where Lerager will play after the window closes on Monday.
