Newcastle United continue being named as one of the clubs in the race for the signing of Olympique Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara.

The news today come from outlet Il Milanista, who reports that the Rossoneri are facing ‘fierce competition’ for the transfer of the 21-year-old.

Kamara’s contract with Marseille expires at the end of the season, so besides becoming a free agent soon, he can also be signed for a considerably lower price in January’s transfer window.

Il Milanista says the player ‘doesn’t seem to have any intention of renewing with the French’ and that obviously draws the interest from several clubs.

According to the report, Milan will have the competition from ‘England, Italy and Germany’, as Newcastle United, Lazio and RB Leipzig have all ‘set their sights’ on Kamara as well.

There’s no information on the player’s preference for now, although the possibility of a January move would require a deal with Marseille too.

The Magpies’ chase for the midfielder had already been reported by the Italian media a couple of weeks ago.
