If you’re a Leicester City fan, you’ll be fully aware of Youri Tielemans’ contractual situation, which has been the talk of the town for some time now.

The Belgium international could leave on a free next summer if a renewal isn’t agreed, but there could be an opportunity for the Foxes to make some money in January if Jeunes Footeux in France are to be believed.

That’s because Newcastle United, with their money, could make a bid in the upcoming transfer window to secure the midfielder’s services early.

They claim Eddie Howe’s side are ‘putting some pressure’ to get the 25-year-old to St James’ Park in the near future, as they continue to try and improve their team.

Leicester, down their end, are enduring a terrible start to the campaign, yet to pick up a win in the Premier League, losing their last five games.

Weakening themselves further in January might not be the best idea, but it all depends on what Newcastle end up doing, as the Magpies ‘strongly wish to acquire the services’ of the Belgian and ‘are considering moving’ in January.

In fact, Newcastle ‘could put €20m on the table’, which is an offer the website feel will be ‘hard to refuse’ for Leicester when taking into account Tielemans’ contractual situation.

Beyond that, it also remains to be seen whether a move to the north of England is what the player wants, especially if someone like Arsenal, often linked in the past, also come knocking.
