With all the players Newcastle United have been linked to in the past few weeks, here’s a new one to the list.

According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, the Magpies are keen on the signing of Monza fullback Carlos Augusto.

It’s pointed out that the Brazilian ‘constantly attracts attention’ from other clubs, and is actually being followed by scouts from ‘half of Europe’.

And one of the ‘most interested’ clubs are said to be Newcastle United, who want him in their squad in the next season.

For now, there’s no information whether the Magpies are already in touch with Monza for the signing, and TuttoMercatoWeb also doesn’t have a say on how much the 24-year-old would cost.

Carlos Augusto joined Monza on a €4m move from Brazillian side Corinthians back in 2020, and slowly became an important player for the Serie A side.

Since he’s still tied to his first contract, which expires in 2024, the Italian club may feel forced to sell him this summer. He’s valued by Transfermarkt at €8m, but with Newcastle involved, we know the request will surely be bigger.
