Even though Chelsea had been heavily linked to Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo lately, we now see that the Blues have slowed down in their pursuit.

That’s today reported by IG Esporte, who claims that with the high price for the transfer, the talks for his move to the Stamford Bridge went cold.

The story also brings the names of other clubs who are now keen on the 17-year-old, and among them, there are Newcastle United.

IG writes that the Magpies already made an approach for the signing, even though it’s not said whether they’re close to making a bid.

What Newcastle may struggle with is the same as Chelsea, because Corinthians are said to be demanding at least €30m to let the player go.

The report claims the Blues got ‘initially scared’ by that asking price, and that’s why they’re backing off from the auction for now.

Newcastle should also be aware that they may face the competition from the likes of Barcelona, Everton and Nottingham Forest as well.

Chelsea are expected to resume talks closer to the January transfer window, and that’s a chance for the Magpies to move faster.
