Newcastle United could open the door for Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar in the next window. The forward has managed 18 goals and 17 assists from 29 games this season but his future could be away from Paris.

Neymar’s deal lasts until 2027 but the Ligue 1 side’s plan is to ‘get rid’ of him. He’s also keen to leave and is analysing some offers to change clubs.

That’s at least what Mundo Deportivo are reporting and they add Newcastle have emerged as a contender to sign the 31-year-old.

It’s stated the Magpies are ‘already in talks’ with the Brazil international’s entourage over a potential deal in the next window. Their objective is to be able to ‘count on’ the former Barcelona man for the Champions League next season.

Eddie Howe’s side took one step closer to qualifying for the Champions League with a win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday. Despite Newcastle’s approach, it isn’t made clear whether Neymar will consider a move to St James’ Park in the summer.

The South American had earlier expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, where he admires Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
