Earlier on Thursday, we covered some claims from France that Leeds United managerial target Régis Le Bris had reached an agreement with OGC Nice.

It was made clear the move wasn’t done yet, though, as the Ligue 1 sides still needed to work out compensation matters.

However, Foot Mercato then quickly came out to clarify that, according to their information, no such agreement between Nice and Le Bris was in place, giving Leeds fans some hope.

They said that despite this, an exit wasn’t to be discarded, as Lorient had already contacted Julien Stéphan to potentially take over.

What is great news for Leeds in all this is that, if they can convince Le Bris to take over at Elland Road, which will be no easy task considering their recent relegation, he will be quite cheap.

That’s because Mohamed Toubache-Ter in France took to Twitter to reveal the Lorient manager has a €5m release clause in his contract.

Therefore, with claims of no agreement being reached with Nice and a relatively easy way into getting the Ligue 1 side to agree, perhaps all hope is not lost for the Elland Road management.
