Tottenham Hotspur interest in Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo isn’t something new, as reports last year already said there was a chance for a bid in January.

It seems that attempt was never made, but according to a report from Calcio Mercato, Spurs continue to follow the 22-year-old.

Zaniolo’s contract with Roma only expires in 2024, but with the club struggling to agree a renewal with him, they already know his situation must be sorted out soon, with a potential sale on the cards.

The report points out there are a few clubs who are interested in Zaniolo, and among them, there are Juventus and Tottenham.

Calcio Mercato writes that Spurs director Fabio Paratici has ‘not stopped following’ Zaniolo in recent months, and that makes the London side one of the threats to take the player from Roma.

Although it isn’t said how much the Serie A side would request in case of a potential sale, the midfielder is currently valued by Transfermarkt at 33m.

Tottenham ‘have never given up’ according to the report.
