On deadline day of the last summer transfer window, Anderlecht allowed Leander Dendoncker to join Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan deal which is to be made permanent in 2019.

The 24-year-old struggled in the first half of the season and made his first league appearance in his side’s 2-1 win over Chelsea in December. Since then, he has managed to impress Nuno Espírito Santo and finished this campaign with 17 league starts.

Dendoncker sat down for a lengthy interview with Belgian publication De Zondag and during the course of the interview, he was asked ‘Where is your future?’

He said, “Next season, you mean? That may be here. I feel good here. We have a good group. Hopefully we can also play European [competition]. Although, you should never exclude anything in the football world.”

There were talks about a move away from the Premier League club in the winter market, but the Belgium international ended up continuing at Molineux.

The player’s agent revealed his client’s performance against Tottenham Hotspur in December was the ‘turning point’ for him to stay at Wolves.

So far, there aren’t any concrete reports to suggest any serious interest from other clubs in securing Dendoncker’s services in the summer, but, like he said, nothing can be ruled out.
