Following the links with Udinese and Watford, Fluminense winger Matheus Martins continues to confirm that he’s in talks for a move to Europe.

The youngster’s latest interview was given last night, following the Tricolor’s win against Corinthians.

He was asked by local journalists about the potential move, and wasn’t afraid to say that the talks for his departure are ongoing, although he didn’t make it clear whether he was heading to Watford or Udinese.

“I just have to thank for the phase I’m living now. Regarding the negotiations, as I said, the negotiations are ongoing, they are going well. And if all goes well, everyone will know,” said Matheus Martins (via Felipe Silva).

It was at the start of the week that the Brazilian media first talked about Martins’ departure from Fluminense.

It was claimed he was being negotiated with Udinese, and would be immediately loaned to Watford.

Club president Mario Bittencourt also spoke to the local media about the negotiations, and confirmed that ‘this group that controls Udinese and Watford’ has been trying to sign the winger since the summer window.

He claimed it’s ‘no secret’ there’s a negotiation going on.

The Hornets previously signed other Fluminense talents such as Richarlison and João Pedro.

Now, if the move is confirmed, we should wait and see if the Pozzo family will choose to send him to England or Italy.
