Here we go again, covering another controversy involving Claudio Bravo and the Chilean national team.
In the past few days, we’ve already covered claims from the Chilean media which said the Manchester City player should apologise before returning to La Roja, as well as a pundit claiming he would create problems in the squad in case of a comeback.
Now according to the national team staff, it’s the Premier League side who haven’t been helping Bravo’s return to play for Chile.
Team doctor Fernando Radice been interviewed by Radio Agricultura on Tuesday, and when speaking of Bravo, he says his staff hasn’t been able to know the player’s recovery, since Manchester City won’t give them the reports.
“One thing is to train and another is to have match rhythm. Clinically speaking, he should not have problems getting to the Copa America. The issue is whether the football and technical point of view are in the same response conditions that a goalkeeper at a level of such importance requires.”
Bravo’s recovery, of course, has been a subject of controversy as well. It’s been claimed that the player didn’t get the same treatment as other teammates, as the national team didn’t even contact him since his injury, while they did get in touch with other stars such as Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez.
A continuing drama.
