Egypt manager Hector Cuper likes talking up the possibility of Mohamed Salah signing for Real Madrid. The Liverpool player’s form this season means such links aren’t fanciful from Cuper, and interest in Salah from the Champions League’s most elite clubs would be no surprise.

Less than a month ago Cuper kicked things off buy saying: “I have received confirmed news that reveals Madrid is interested in signing Salah.”

That created more waves in the English media than in Spain, but now Marca have themselves spoken to Cuper about the Liverpool player and a possible Madrid move.

The Egypt boss was full of enthusiasm about his star player player moving to Madrid: “I have no doubt that Salah has quality, and more, to play at Real Madrid. It is unquestionable.

“He has a level to play at Real Madrid, for sure. He is a very fast player, technically good… I think that for Real Madrid he would be good.”

The way Salah has been playing for Liverpool, it’s clear he could probably play for any team in the world, but the Madrid hints seem to be coming for Cuper alone.

The Spanish club’s local press have covered the comments but there’s no suggestion right now that Real Madrid are set to actually try and sign the Liverpool player.
