Napoli’s Allan has granted a big interview to Corriere dello Sport for their newspaper on Friday, and a little part of it is reserved for Manchester City comparisons and praise.
Currently top of Serie A after 7 games, Napoli have scored an impressive 25 goals and won every single match so far in the league.
Whilst Juventus would still remain favourites, down to the strength of their squad, Napoli are showing it could be a real battle this season, and an entertaining one.
Just like other Napoli players before him, Allan has made sure to praise manager Maurizio Sarri and the Italian’s methods. When the Corriere dello Sport conversation came around to Sarri, Allan explained: “He’s up with Guardiola and among the best in the world… among the top five coaches working right now.”
Allan hadn’t finished there, and continued: “Napoli and the performance is a merit to him: Only Manchester City play like we play. I’m a football consumer, I watch everything there is on TV and I haven’t found anything else.”The Rio di Janeiro midfielder conceded there may be a team he doesn’t know about who also play in a similar way, but as far as Allan is concerned right now: Manchester City and Napoli are out there ahead.
