Leicester City are eyeing a move for Spezia striker Mbala Nzola if Jamie Vardy leaves the club this summer.

That’s according to Il Secolo XIX, relayed by Spezia 1906, who say the striker can be secured for a €10m fee if the Foxes want him.

The newspaper explains that the 26-year-old is on Leicester’s radar and ‘there are movements’ ahead should their iconic forward end up potentially moving on in the coming weeks.

Vardy’s current contract expires in 2024 meaning the Foxes would have to sell this summer if they don’t want to lose the veteran on a free next year, should he decided to continue elsewhere of course.

Thus, there is the possibility of a sale, and should that happen Nzola is on the list of possible options, particularly as he is available for as little as €10m.

Leicester are not the only side to have shown an interest, with Roma also asking for information on the player but unable to move due to financial issues at the club.

Fiorentina are also keen and ‘ready to make an offer’ but would only move if his €10m release clause is lowered first.

That seems unlikely to happen so Leicester could be at the front of the queue if they decide to move, although their interest is very much dependent on if ‘Vardy leaves immediately’ or not.
