At the beginning of April, Le10 Sport claimed AS Monaco’s Djibril Sidibé was of ‘strong interest’ to Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho was said to have already started the process of trying to sign the player, letting him know of a desire to do the deal.

Then on May 17th, the same Le10 Sport reported Manchester United and Monaco were expected to start negotiations regarding the transfer of the France international ‘in the coming hours’.

It was claimed a deal was even possible before the World Cup. Sidibe has since been named as a member of Didier Deschamps’ squad for the tournament in Russia.

Now, on May 22nd, we have France Football pushing it.

It’s claimed, via their own information, that Sidibé is on a ‘short-list’ at Manchester United, and France Football then add: ‘During a recent meeting, the Mancunian club probed the entourage of former Lille player. It’s a serious track.’

Atletico Madrid are presented as possible alternative, although their interest isn’t presented as quite as serious.

Sidibé is a 25 year old right back who can also play on the left, he has a contract with AS Monaco until June 2022.
