Islam Slimani to Fenerbahce may be close, but it’s not close enough for the Turkish club.

Earlier on Monday, we covered a report from Turkey claiming that while an agreement in principle had been reached between the two clubs for the transfer of the Leicester City striker, the player’s agent still needed to be convinced.

Well, if L’Expression in Algeria are to be believed, he doesn’t have a lot of time to come to a decision, as Fenerbahce’s director of football, Damien Comolli, has set a deadline for the deal to go through, and it’s Monday night.

Should Leicester and Slimani not give their definitive answer in the next few hours, then the Turkish side will move on and focus their attention on Tottenham’s Vincent Janssen, who was there on loan last season, which was also reported by Takvim in this morning’s article.

As for Sporting CP’s interest, it’s all gone a bit stale, even if it seems the Foxes’ man would ideally prefer to return to his former club.

For that to happen, however, they need to offer something to Leicester, which hasn’t really happened yet.
